For the seventh consecutive year, Roger Barr is supporting our Food Shelf through this holiday event. The $25 purchase price of his book The Christmas Promise is donated to the Food Shelf.

The Christmas Promise, a book of nine holiday short stories by award-winning author Roger Barr. The book project continues a partnership between Hallie Q. Brown and the author dating back to 2014. The collection includes eight stories originally published in the Villager newspaper between 2011 and 2018. The first 13 stories were collected in Barr’s book Getting Ready for Christmas & Other Stories, published in 2011. Its sales and associated readings have raised more than $70,000 to support local food shelves. Barr’s efforts have supported Hallie’s food shelf since 2014.
